Diamond Langi is pretty special to us here at Talanoa. Not only did we know her shortly before she shot to fame, we’ve always admired her humility and genuine kindness – something that hasn’t changed despite her success. Her long list of accomplishments range from Face of Beauty International Contestant Winner (2013), shining as the Face of Karen Gee, featuring in a song and music video as a rapper, appearing on magazine covers, all while making time for charity, her widespread fans across the globe, and most importantly, her family. We’re proud to share a part of her story with you.
What has been your career aspiration, and how did you end up in this field of work?
My main aspiration has always been in the field of entertainment, from singing, acting, modelling, hosting or even to the little NoNo videos I do, I’ve always found a passion with working with the camera. I ended up in modelling from taking acting classes and stumbled upon it by accident and found a love for it.
What has kept you motivated to push forward with your career?
The main thing that keeps me motivated to push forward is the promise I made myself to make my dreams come true, and to be able to take care of my parents so they do not have to work anymore.
What has been the biggest lesson on this journey in your career?
The biggest lesson I’ve learnt from my journey is to not be afraid to be yourself. People will either like you or dislike you and no matter the outcome – life still goes on.
What does the future hold for you?
I still have a long way to go. But when the time comes I’ll take a leap of faith and move back to America and pursue my journey there.
We’d like to send a big malo aupito and ‘ofa lahi ‘atu to the beautiful Diamond for sharing her time and story with us. If you’d like to follow her and stay up-to-date with her journey, you can connect with her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
