“I’m 19 and I live in Deuba. Two brothers used to row this boat but they both died this year so sometimes I row the boat for some money. It closes at 7pm. I didn’t really like school, I like working with my hands. I’d like to live in Suva or Lautoka one day.”

Savenaca Ruata is from Korovisilou village, Serua, Viti Levu. Sometimes he rows this small colourful wooden boat back and forth across the Navua river, carrying passengers from Wainidova or Deuba Koro to Navua town.⠀
